UniKeg signs pact with circular plastics alliance | KeyKeg

On 20 September 2019, Anita Veenendaal, CEO of KeyKeg | UniKeg signed the Circular Plastics Alliance declaration in Brussels. By signing, we underlined our full commitment in achieving a common goal; creating a circular economy. This includes:

  1. Better collection & sorting: Our OneCircle recycling scheme / community is growing.
  2. Improved product design: We successfully reduced the amount of plastic used for our 20L kegs.
  3. More recycled plastic in our product: Our kegs are already made of 30% recycled material and are 100% recyclable.

Recycled plastics
Our goal is to leave the world a better place. We do this by designing our kegs with circularity in mind. Making our plastic kegs circular will reduce plastic pollution. Recycling more plastics is of the greatest importance for our environment.
The declaration describes the Alliance's vision for more recycled plastics in Europe, as well as the Alliance's commitment to reach the EU target of 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics being used in products in the EU by 2025.

Solutions to increase recycled plastics into new products
The vision of the Circular Plastics Alliance is to deliver on the circular economy for plastics and substantially increase the use of recycled plastics into new products. The Circular Plastics Alliance endorses the ambitious target that by 2025 at least 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics should find their way into products and packaging in Europe each year, helping to deliver the circular economy with a life cycle approach.
The declaration is signed by many companies such as Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Danone and more.
